"As broadcasting firepower goes, this takes some beating. Three powerful kinds of charm. Coles is a great asset, a bona fide national treasure and an experienced broadcaster, formerly of Saturday Live...each episode is 15 minutes too long...the tone is just a little too amateurish. As a listener you can never quite have confidence in a podcast whose presenters keep insisting they’ve frantically researched some random facts at the last minute. Minor niggles but, argh, let me sort it out. I could fix it. It could be brilliant!"

"In less erudite hands it’d be a bore, but their scattergun excavation of origin stories and “stuff” – time zones, white dog poo, Evelyn Waugh, what to do with a dead body in space – is heaven."

"...feels charmingly, eccentrically, esoterically English, although a Norwegian steadies its course. There is a whiff of QI/No Such Thing as a Fish to the format (minus some showy smugness)...So far it is a likeable listen, with Jarman controlling Cole’s more unctuous tendencies and Spencer revealing himself as a diligent, keen-to-please prepper."

"...jolliness and charm ... So, a bit like The Boring Talks mixed with a clever dinner party...it’s all madly posh, in a good way: eccentric, well-lived, entertaining, with the delightful assumption that the listeners know stuff too. I liked it far more than I expected."
