"...entertainingly written listen, but I hope the ensuing episodes progress beyond the worlds of QAnon and conspiracy explored so vividly in the first hit series."

"(Series 2) ...it didn’t take long before I was flailing in the weeds again. Gatehouse is an excellent journalist, though I find myself missing the light touch of Jon Ronson, whose podcast Things Fell Apart covers similar topics. I have a feeling that Gatehouse’s conclusion will be: loads more people than you think believe in at least some form of conspiracy and it’s all to do with the John Birch Society. He will, I’m sure, pull everything together in the end. In the meantime, I’m lost, but still enjoying the ride. Hey-ho. …"

"(Series 2)...things are even weirder. This time, Gatehouse is looking not just at QAnon, but at how conspiratorial thinking has broken into the mainstream. "(Series 2) The Coming Storm is back to take the temperature of America. And things are even weirder. Open your eyes, join the dots, and go through the looking glass. This isn’t just about political polarisation, fractured public trust in institutions, or the social media platforms that enable misinformation to go viral. It’s not even about Trump, not really. It’s about what happens when societies lose their shared sense of what is and isn’t real."

"Gatehouse’s research is excellent. His weaving together of the narrative is compelling and his delivery self-effacing (he admits more than once to disappearing down rabbit holes and actually falling for some of the conspiracy theories he’s trying to debunk). Most of all it’s just really interesting and superbly pulled together...It’s excellent, it really is."

"I was initially sceptical about the series, expecting it to be another QAnon refresher course, but it tells the story well and makes unexpected connections, even if some pieces of the jigsaw take a while to slot into place. Gatehouse is a calm and thoughtful host who uses the series to dig deep into the roots of QAnon."
