Northwoods Baseball Sleep Radio - Fake Baseball for Sleeping

5.0/5

Critic Rating

It's a fake baseball game (an entire game) for sleeping or relaxation! No yelling, no loud commercials, just a sleepy small-town ballgame over an AM radio. ///// Produced by: Mr. King ///// WSLP Producers: Philip T. Hunter, Beth King, Corrbette Pasko ///// WSLP Jingle by Joshua Wayne Hensley ///  Website: http://www.sleepbaseball.com ///// Fan Mail: northwoodsbaseball@gmail.com

"Even the background music in the ads is, well it’s muzak, plain and simple. The attention to detail is fantastic (you could actually score the game if you wanted to, because Wally’s calling is detailed and each episode is an entire game) and if I haven’t made it clear, it’s incredibly soothing. It’s an incredibly weird concept, taking fantasy baseball to a whole new level. But Mr. King set out to create Baseball ASMR and he did it and did it well."

"The game itself is an unremarkable one, but that’s part of the design for content meant to help you fall asleep...the game does have the sound of a genuine contest. It’s all very real seeming, despite the point being that you don’t get too mentally invested in it — that you don’t get all the way through. The game you are listening is designed to make you stop listening to it."
