Bad Dates with Jameela Jamil

2.7/5

Critic Rating

Everybody has had them. Everybody can relate to them. And now it's time to laugh at them on BAD DATES, a hilarious new comedy podcast hosted by Jameela Jamil. Each week Jameela's favorite comedians, celebrities and funny friends share their epic and true dating nightmares and misfires. Like the tale of the guy who could only get frisky on top of a pile of stuffed "Garfield" toys, or the enraged beauty queen with food poisoning who chased her date through a kitchen window. There's even a bad date that involved gay Bigfoot. From the team behind the hit podcast SmartLess...

"It’s so weird I don’t even think it would have gotten green lit to be in a wacky rom com. Yet it’s relatable and brought me back to the days I was young and stupid and doing any and all the wrong things for someone to like me."

James Marriot • The Times UK Mar 31, 2023

"All the dating stories available to these long-coupled guests are either obviously shop-worn...or just blatantly second-hand. The somewhat tone-deaf air of the proceedings was perhaps to be expected from Jamil...A successful podcast should feel like dropping into a good conversation. Bad Dates has the air of a group of people stuck in the corner of a ghastly party effortfully trying to have a nice time in the face of adverse circumstances. There’s a lot of over-loud laughter. We are living through a dismal era of pointless celebrity podcasts. Not everybody should have a podcast."
