The comedy podcast that takes history seriously. In each episode of You’re Dead to Me from BBC Radio 4, Greg Jenner is joined by a comedian and an expert historian to learn and laugh about the past.History isn’t just about dates and textbooks – it’s about extraordinary characters, amazing stories, and some very questionable fashion choices. "You’re Dead to Me is an entertaining and digestible whizz through an interesting topic from the past. It’s a handy refresher on a range of subjects, or a useful starter for those of us whose curriculum didn’t include all the topics we might have wished for. And it’s a gift for teenagers if they don’t mind the occasional swear word."

"I suspect You’re Dead to Me will improve in its second season. Jenner is likeable and the formula of dispensing intriguing historical titbits with a dose of light-hearted fun is a safe one. Meanwhile: Robin Pierson. I salute you. Your enterprise is a doomed and noble one. Much like the Byzantine Empire."

"This amusing new podcast follows TV outings such as Drunk History and Horrible Histories in making the past that bit more exciting. Historian Greg Jenner, who helped to make the latter show, hosts alongside experts including Dr Helen Castor, a medieval historian who helps to explain the remarkable story of Joan of Arc. Of course, there are comedians, too – among them Suzi Ruffell, who considers her own identity as a gay woman as they assess the continuing arc of LGBT history. "
