"Hosted by two 20-something Cuban expatriates who grew up in Miami, “Teikirisi” (the Cuban-accented take on the phrase “take it easy”) is the most fun and insightful introduction to the Cuban-American experience audio has to offer. The hosts deftly swing between a discussion of the emotional complexities of traumatizing scarcity and famine to a guide to your first Cuban party (expect to leave near dawn, with cake). Together, they convey the joys and pains of the vibrant Cuban-American community and its history."

"If you are Cuban American, I imagine you’d get this “hell yes” feeling listening to it, I imagine you’d feel SEEN! But if you’re not, like me, you will just enjoy being included in what feels like a call between two friends and getting to hear about their distinctive Cuban-American experiences. Carmen and Fryda tell stories in a way that make me wish I was sitting with them, in person, to join in on the fun."
