Critic Rating

What is it like to be a woman in the public eye above all else? How do you convince us you’re OK, or at least that you should be left alone? And once you think you have, how do you unmask yourself and break free? This new podcast investigates the case of Britney Spears, parsing what we know about her story and what it tells us about sex, entertainment, and how we treat women in the public eye.

Miranda Sawyer • The Guardian Jul 3, 2021
