"I felt at home, this was so much of what I really though I’d dedicate my life to. But even if you don’t think it’s your jam, if you’re even mildly interested in ancient history or religion your mind will be blown....podcast listeners in general love great storytelling, and why would you go anywhere other than The Bible, which is full of the greatest stories ever told, to get them?"

"Why do I find all this so absorbing? After all, I’ve never believed in any of it. I suppose one reason is because even if you think Christianity is a myth, it’s still fascinating to watch someone pull back the curtain on a belief system that has been so influential in our culture. The other is Ehrman. He is a genial presence with a remarkable gift for bringing his often esoteric discipline to life. It should be said that the show is not without its flaws..."
