"Wars That Shaped the World, meanwhile, uses “dynamic audio” to depict scenes of warfare, which means it’s heavy on the sound effects. Its first few episodes recreate D-Day — so, like The Longest Day but without the pictures. It is full of sound and fury, but signifying … well, I’m not entirely sure."
