These silent communicators possess gifts that defy conventional understanding, from telepathy to otherworldly perceptions, challenging the limits of what we believe to be real. "The Telepathy Tapes is an emotional podcast that tells powerful stories. But powerful stories do not equal scientific proof. The podcast avoids critical voices, ignores scientific studies, and asks listeners to believe without questioning. Science does not support The Telepathy Tapes, and the podcast does not try to prove its claims in real tests. Believers may enjoy it, but anyone looking for truth should be cautious."

"(Updated) If you do even the slightest amount of fact-checking (I had not) you will see that it’s complete bullshit. I am not the only one who has fallen for this show—I have gushed about it with some of the smartest people I know and I have three friends who said it made them believe in god."

"Lots about The Telepathy Tapes is hard to believe, but the struggles of non-speakers and their parents ring true. If the podcast had stayed there, really dug into that issue, then — even with the telepathy claims — it could have been a vital listen. There’s a gnawing air of irresponsibility looming over the whole thing too. It’s like she’s been drinking the Kool-Aid for so long, she’s forgotten that not everyone else has."

"Well, I say investigate. You could call it something different. You know how Danny Robins’s show Uncanny has two experts, a believer and a sceptic? There are no sceptics here. It’s all very persuasive and enjoyable. But that doesn’t make it true. Despite all the warmth of The Telepathy Tapes, it leaves a remarkably nasty taste."

"While these assertions lack scientific validation, the popularity of the podcast The Telepathy Tapes (thetelepathytapes.com) identifies a yearning in many for beliefs that extend beyond the rational. As a sceptic, I approach the The Telepathy Tapes with one eyebrow arched…"

"The more I listened to those episodes, the more upset I became. One of my dear friends even paid for access so we could watch the so-called “evidence.” All those videos confirmed that there was, in fact, no telepathy. The children could only communicate with a specific person in the room—the same person who already knew the answers to the questions being asked. The host tried to justify this by claiming that it only works if you believe in it. Weak."

"In a happier time Dickens would have merely been an anonymous crank. It is impossible not to sympathise with the desperation of these parents. What is much harder to sympathise with is Dickens’s promotion of their tragic fantasies. It is bad for public trust in science and I suspect it is also bad for the parents."

"The good news—if you can call it that—is that The Telepathy Tapes is a veritable cornucopia of pseudoscientific beliefs, some new and many old, all presented with breathless wonder and inspirational background music. Unfortunately, The Telepathy Tapes has something else going for it that the typical paranormal investigation show does not: the voices of parents who are dealing with the substantial challenges of raising children with severe forms of autism and extremely limited language ability. It is hard not to feel sympathy for these parents, but it is also true that they are far from objective observers."

"...the evidence—are remarkably convincing. Whether you consider yourself a believer or a skeptic, this show is a wild ride that will certainly challenge your ideas about the potential of human interaction. "

"It’s important to maintain compassion for the parents who find themselves in the middle of this, but real answers on the topic of psi phenomena will not be arrived at through wishful thinking. Rigour should be de rigueur. Everyone thinks they are appropriately skeptical. No one thinks they’re gullible. We all want to believe."

"The Telepathy Tapes is one of the most mind-twisty things I’ve listened to in awhile. It felt too hot too touch, like I want to pass it along fast. It’s also about energy attraction and a beautiful relationship between a mother and son."

"...the series makes a compelling case that there’s something deep and profound we do not understand about ourselves and our world. I make no claims about the podcast’s validity. I’m only saying it’s an incredible listen. Maybe it resonates with you. Maybe not. If nothing else, it’s fascinating."
