"What’s quite surreal about this new series is the extent to which the earlier podcast is now part of the story...While the first episode of The Teacher’s Trial gives listeners a refresher of the case’s details, I recommend going back and listening to all of The Teacher’s Pet first, before listening to this new series, if you’re unfamiliar with the story. "It is a tremendously fascinating look into the legal proceedings of a high-profile murder trial, and most interestingly, the role of new media in the criminal justice system. Many “true crime” podcasts can feel distasteful in its gleeful use of tragedy as entertainment fodder, but The Teacher’s Trial has been especially fascinating for its ability to turn the investigative reporting in on itself, and the morality of inviting audiences into real crime, and real tragedies."
