"Already it’s shaping up to be an incisive, conversation-starting weekly show, perhaps more so for those who tend to find the financial pages a tad dry. It moves nimbly from the bigger economic issues such as why the London stockmarket is not the force it used to be to the everyday perils of buy now, pay later, for example. …"

"The Rest Is Money lacks the transgressive insider frisson of previous Goalhanger shows. And Peston and McGovern are a little too media-honed. They could do with a little friction. You feel as if you’re being presented with a conversation rather than allowed to listen in on one. It’s not that The Rest Is Money is bad. Not remotely. It’s a fun and compelling show. It is easy to listen to. It just lacks Lineker’s special spice."
