"One of the show’s biggest assets is its diverse range of journalists who offer analysis on stories of the day, drawing from the newspaper’s extensive roster of top-notch reporters. The Daily may have an air for dramatics, but it exemplifies what the NYT does best: quality journalism. It might be old-school, but The Daily is still one of the best."

"...by listening to this podcast and Morning Edition, I now not only know about what's going on in the US and the wider world, but I now have a basic grasp on why these things are happening and the gravity they hold on other things in my life. Both of these podcasts truly make me feel like an educated, responsible citizen."

"...even my ultra-conservative friend likes The Daily for one reason: the podcast host, Michael Barbaro. Barbaro has a very interesting and dramatic voice. He can make the most boring topics seem interesting by the Doomsday-esque feeling his voice gives to the podcast, although the content can seem depressing as well. I guess an appeal of The Daily is it makes you feel smarter, especially if you’re part of America’s liberal indoctrination factory like me (my friend’s words, not mine)."

"Barbaro’s [Host] voice is earnest, urgent and slightly awed by his own importance — like his newspaper. Recently, I’ve also started to find his husky half-whisper unwantedly intimate, as if Barbaro and I had just enjoyed a random night of passion and he had propped himself up on his elbows to speculate about our future together. It goes down more easily than you might think: with 17 dedicated journalists, producers and technicians working on it, The Daily might be the most carefully edited podcast in the world. …"

"“The Daily” serves instead to focus on telling one story and telling it well...you can always count on quippy remarks, well-researched discussion and quite plainly--good writing."

"While a daily news show can’t help but engage with the political soap opera, The Daily makes a point of occasionally disengaging and seeking out the harder to find stories. I have found this to be an invaluable service, reminding me of my own aspirations."

"(Episode: The Most Empty Downtown in America) This was an interesting episode that confirmed what I’d been hearing anecdotally. I liked how they brought in some clips from previous episodes on what San Francisco used to be like. It was a great overview of the recent economic and business history of San Francisco and where it’s at currently, the challenges it faces, and where it might be heading. Sad for the city… but what a fantastic episode! "

"(Episode: The Online Search Wars) AI- a hot topic these days. This podcast was awesome analyzing Microsoft’s play to get Bing in any kind of position to challenge Google Search. The podcast goes into the creepiness of AI! It could have done a better job of gong into the “why?” And predictions for the future."

"Polling was so messy and a fail in 2016. They established more polling this year and Trump is losing again. I don't buy it. They assured that it's battleground states only. I still don't buy it. I don't know about having the Daily having a topic like this to discuss. "

"The Daily brings on Black female historian Dr. Berry to discuss the significance and history of Juneteenth. This episodes interview balances both the celebratory and somber nature of the true American Independence Day. Highly recommend. "
