"...this continues to be the best pure history programme on radio, in Ireland and maybe anywhere. This is radio made by historians but not for historians. Our genial host, Dr Patrick Geoghegan, introduced 2023 with an invitation to listeners to suggest topics they would like to see covered. Broadly speaking, I’m not a huge fan of this kind of audience engagement — it can be a lazy, unimaginative way to get the public to do the job for you — but in this case, the call-out epitomised what’s so good about Talking History...even for non-sports fans, the great thing about Talking History is that you’ll almost certainly find something else to take your fancy very soon."
