"Reid could have easily portrayed her own reporting of Ellis’ case as always being on the right side of history, but to her credit, she doesn’t do this – instead, she casts a critical eye over her work, presenting a lot of it warts-and-all to the listener, including some of the uncomfortable questions she asked Ellis about his sexuality. If I am to nitpick, the only drawback with the series would be in relation to its dual-medium release as both a podcast and video series: while an understandable decision due to wider audience reach, it did feel as though both outputs didn’t quite make the most of each medium’s potential."
