"That the show works at all shouldn’t be surprising, given that Kardashian has perfected the art of making engrossing entertainment out of little more than matte grey surfaces and face-to-camera “confessionals.” Kardashian’s instantly recognizable voice make this show easy to binge. The System is a series with real potential."

"This seems to have been said without much self-awareness around how Keith’s fate within the justice system could well be influenced by the whims of a billionaire, but perhaps that reflection might still come in later episodes. …"

"It’s not the best true crime podcast you’ll ever hear (and is, of course, heavy with vocal fry), but that isn’t really the point. This is Kim Kardashian’s big rebrand as a legal expert, and she … kind of pulls it off. I wouldn’t normally praise celebs coming after yet more of the podcast ecosystem, but in this case more attention on the flaws of the US justice system surely cannot be a bad thing."

"The System is heavily produced, proving Kim has put a lot of effort into her show in order to be taken seriously and get her message across. Everyone has a right to dislike Kim for whatever reason they choose, but The Kardashians star's new podcast has everyone talking about Kevin's case, and this is exactly what he and his family wanted."

"...the first two releases have been surprisingly captivating...it’s evident that Kardashian and her team studied the medium and made an effort to craft an interesting audial story. The System touches upon the classic nuances of true crime storytelling... The sound design and editing of The System is a testament that interesting true crime shows can still be made. "

"My initial hot take on Kim Kardashian new podcast: Interactions with Kevin Keith, the calm narration, and conversations with others were very Serial-like."
