"As with Song Exploder, the episodes are short...This means the conversations are focused but it also leaves little time to fill us in on such basics as plot. But if the contextual information is lacking, there is intimacy and insight in the way these conversations demystify the creative process, and writers are particularly good — better than musicians, I’d argue — at articulating how and why they do what they do."
