Wild Things: Siegfried & Roy

4.7/5

Critic Rating

Over the course of nearly half a century, Siegfried & Roy performed 30,000 shows for 50 million people and generated well over $1 billion in ticket sales. Although the German-born illusionists and pop culture icons were mega-famous, much about their private lives, eccentric public personae, and tragic final show remained shrouded in mystery…until now. "The most surprising thing (at least to me) is the in depth investigation to other MULTIPLE incidents at the Siegfried and Roy show, specifically the ones that were covered up....an excellent podcast to binge and could be considered a warning tale on those who profit off of wild animals. "

"...a simultaneously compelling and frustrating Apple TV+ podcast...this is no Tiger King. Wild Things feels overly reverential and oddly drained of colour. If the host has a trick up his sleeve, it’s time for the big reveal."

Alexi Duggins • The Guardian Jan 21, 2022

"...it's hard not to be captivated by the enigmatic and eccentric men and their love of animals. And as with any good magic show, await the big reveal and learn about what led to a life-long partnership and their tireless workshopping of magic tricks and illusions on the big stage and with big cats."
